In most cases, you will submit a digital portfolio of 10-15 artworks.
The most important thing you can do now to prepare is make art and document it. When the time comes to submit your application, feel free to reach out to your art teacher for help selecting pieces to submit.
Make sure you maintain your grades in all your classes so your GPA lines up with schools you may be interested in. Search the school name and "GPA requirements" for quick access.
Work hard in English class. Ms. Meeks has two degrees: one in Studio Art and one in Art Education and she spent LOTS more time writing for her art degree than her education degree.

Individual schools most likely will not offer all career options. Compare majors offered at each school. Find checksheets that detail the types of courses available.
Make sure to note deadlines for submitting your portfolio.
Visit the school during open house.
Look for scholarships from the specific art school / department as well as the broader university.
